Memorabilia from the Woodhams-Stone Collection, amassed over half a century, goes on show at Norton Town Council chamber, Commercial Street, on Saturday, from 11am to 4pm.
Once the town’s Court House, the building itself as “a hidden gem” says Sarah Maultby, the cataloguing officer for the collection.
“The exhibition will focus on Norton and its rich heritage and will give visitors a chance to see inside the old court house as well,” she said.
“We are holding an open day to let local people see more items from the collection that we are gradually bringing out of store.”
Historians Sid Woodhams and John Stone have collected thousands of items over the years, many of them artefacts of businesses and domestic life in Norton, including postcards and pictures.
Di Keal, one of the event organisers, said: “The amount of memorabilia is just amazing.”
