Views are needed on how a potential cash windfall could be used to benefit the North York Moors and surrounding area.
Hovingham Village Hall will host a meeting on Tuesday afternoon, 2pm to 4pm, which is seeking opinions on how funding from the North York Moors, Coast and Hills LEADER could help different communities.
The new scheme, which would start in 2015 if successful, will take a bottom-up, grassroots approach, investing in individuals as much as projects themselves but will focus more on economic growth than its predecessor.
Discussions at next week’s consultation event will gauge interest and opportunities across four broad themes – Agriculture/Forestry/Fisheries, the Natural Environment, Communities, and Local Business/Small and Medium Sized Enterprise.
“We need input and ideas now so please do let us know your thoughts,” said a LEADER spokesman.
