Police are warning residents to take extra safety precautions as they investigate three burglaries in Norton.
Homes on Springfield Garth, Dean Road and Wood Street were broken into between Sunday at 9.30pm and 3.45am on Monday, stealing a Phillips television, computers and a Nintendo game station and games, among other items.
The burglars also took model trucks and money boxes.
PC Paul Storey, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you have seen any people or vehicles acting suspiciously in the Norton area over the last few days I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind homeowners to make sure that they keep their homes secure, keeping windows as well as doors locked.”
He also suggested that fences are kept in good repair, security lighting installed and gates locked.
