Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was abused in a Kirkbymoorside street.

The 25-year-old woman was pushing a pram in the Market Place, on Thursday, at around 4.50pm, when she approached by two youths outside the Help the Aged charity shop.

Police say the youths verbally abused her before walking off when she went into the shop.

Officers believe that another woman who was standing close by witnessed the incident and may have information that can help their investigation.

They are urging her and anyone else who may have seen the incident to come forward.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Andy Pomfret or Helmsley police.
