Dobson is final star for Sherburn

A FIVE-star display by seam bowler Nick Dobson sealed Sherburn 2nds' 28-run win against Lockton 2nds in the Welford Cup final.
Dobson snapped up 5-26 as Lockton struggled to 78-8 in reply to Sherburn's 106-8.

Kev Stocks, 41, and Lee Jack, 23, shone with the bat for Lockton in the face of fine bowling from Ken Eddon, 5-49, and John Bristow, 2-50.

Lockton made a steady start thanks to Guy Nattrass and Wendy Brown, who hit 20 apiece.

Dobson and Mick Holtby, 2-12, then pegged Lockton back to 78-8 as Sherburn sealed the win.

Result: Sherburn 2nds 106-8 (K Stocks 41, L Jack 23, K Eddon 5-49, J Bristow 2-50) beat Lockton 2nds 78-8 (G Nattrass 20, W Brown 20, N Dobson 5-26, M Holtby 2-12) by 28 runs.
