THE wintry weather caused havoc with the weekend's footballing schedule.
Pickering Town’s NCEL premier division clash at Maltby Main was postponed as was Kirkbymoorside FC’s Wearside League match at home to Teesside Athletic.

The Pikes fixture with Maltby has been re-scheduled for Wednesday March 31 while
a new date for Kirkby’s game with Teesside has yet to be decided.

The Pikes are scheduled to host Nostell Miners Welfare in league competition this Saturday with a 3pm kick-off at their Mill Lane ground.

And Kirkbymoorisde will be at home to Ashbrooke Belford House in the Teesside League with a 2pm start.

The entire Wearside League was wiped out at the weekend because of the bad conditions.

Kirkby boss Darren Rivis said: “The conditions were awful and it just shows how bad it was that there were no games on.

“We are hoping it is better for the weekend and are hoping to pick up some points on home turf.”

Pickering boss Mark Wood will be hoping his side can continue the kind of form that saw them win 4-1 against Kirkbymoorside in the North Riding Senior Cup last time out when they play Nostell.

The Pikes, who are currently 10th in the division won their last league game 3-1 at home to Brodsworth Welfare.

Also falling victim to the weather at the weekend was the entire Scarborough and District Saturday and Sunday League schedules.

While there were also no games played in the Scarborough and District Minor Leagues.
