Greenlay brothers hit top form in victory

Harome 99-5 beat Hovingham 98-3 by 7 wkts
Two early run-outs, and some accurate bowling from the Greenlay brothers, James, and Dave, had Hovingham in trouble at seven runs for the loss of three

Wickets and then it did not get much better 21 for five wickets. Hovingham were indebted to T
om Lund whose 27 upped the scoring rate late in the innings

James Greenlay bowled four overs returning 1-15, and Dave Greenlay ended with 3-15 from his four-over spell

Harome lost three wickets in reply, reaching the total with only six balls to spare.

Dave Greenlay held the run-chase together with an unbeaten 47, supported by Bob Harding, 19, whose six in the last over eased the pressure for Harome.



Harome 137-4 beat Settrington 120-6 by 17 runs

Visitors Harome made a great start with the bat as Phil Marwood, 80no, and Dave Greenlay, 36, put on 108 for the first wicket.

They seemed well set for a large total, however Settrington pulled it back in the last few overs with a tight spell from Jonty Rounthwaite, 3-22.

Tristan Midgley, 1-19, also bowled well and completed a hat-trick when he took a wicket with his first ball, having taken two wickets with his last two balls against Lockton three weeks ago.

In reply, Settrington made a good start and despite a tight four overs from James Greenlay, 1-23, the game appeared to be heading towards a close finish with George Rounthwaite, 60, going particularly well.

However the home side lost a few quick wickets and fell behind the rate, eventually finishing 17 runs short.

Mark Haines finished with 2-23.



Nawton Grange 97-4 beat Lockton 80-4 by 17 runs

Mark Rymer, 31, and Justin Palmer, 22no, saw Nawton to what looked a below par score.

Pete Robson, 2-24, had bowled well for Lockton.

Gareth Hunt was again amongst the runs with 20 for Dale but with only S Stead, 19no, giving support Lockton were never in with a chance.

Darren Palmer was impressive, taking 2-18.

Hovingham 98-8 beat Kirkbymoorside 84-7 by 14 runs

Hovingham took first knock and accrued at total of 98-8 with notable contributions from Charlie Foster, 35, and Rich Bowling 24no.

Nick Thurlow bowled well taking 3-21 and good support came from Dan Jeminson, 2-19.
