Terrington Hall's under-13 football team's unbeaten season continued when captain David Hague scored a hat-trick during his side's 3-1 win over Malton School.
The scoreline does not, however, truly reflect the closeness of this tight, hotly-contested encounter, with a strong Malton side creating opportunities and looking threatening right to the end.

Terrington were first to score with skipper Hague netting a goal in the first five minutes.

Malton's Callum Smith delivered a swift reply with a superb strike from the edge of the area which sailed beyond Terrington keeper Toby Latham's outstretched fingers and dipped just beneath the crossbar.

Fourteen minutes later Terrington nudged ahead as Hague latched onto a loose ball and put it away, to then coolly slot in another from close range three minutes later, bringing the score to 3-1.

Braced for a sustained Malton attack in the second half, Terrington held their ground with Nick Foxley staunchly at the centre of defence and some perfectly-timed interventions from Jake Stephenson.

With neither side breaching a defence, the scoreline remained 3-1.
