PICKERING Town kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 3-1 defeat of Huntington on Monday night.
All of the goals came in the second half, in what was a good run out for the Pikes.

Skipper Joe Connor said: “We had quite a few trial players in for the manager Mark Wood to look at, but it was a good work-out for us.

“Huntington were keen and they put a lot of work in, but we deserved to win.”

Liam Salt handed Pickering the lead, but Huntington hit back through former Chesterfield man Iain Dunn.

Striker Salt then hit his second and Rob Eeles wrapped up the win in the last few minutes.

Pickering return to friendly action tonight when they travel to Stokesley for a 7.30pm kick-off.
