Ryedale Secondary School and Helmsley CP School took their fair share of the silverware at the annual North Yorkshire Schools Table Tennis Championships.
A total of 28 students from the two schools travelled to the Graham School table tennis centre in Scarborough and took a host of titles.
Helmsley under-11 boys A team consisting of Finn Needham, Edward Fambely, Jack Moody and Jonathon Birbeck met
the B team of Adam Ridley, Charlie Allott, Rufus Brooks and Luke Lunn in the semi-final with the A lads dominating the games to win through to the final.
The A team went on to beat Gladstone Road A in the final to become North Yorkshire Schools under-11 team champions.
The C team of Jimmy Goode, Zack Priestly, Tom Moody and Tom Souter put up some great fights against strong opposition.
In the under-11 boys singles, there were some determined efforts in the group stages but three of Helmsley School reached the semi final stage.
Jonathon Birbeck put up a great performance against Edward Fambely but Edward's left-hand attacking shots proved to be more consistent as he progressed into the final, with the other semi-final seeing Finn Needham ease through to meet his team-mate for the title.
The final was a classic with Edward taking the first and Finn coming back from a five point deficit to take the next three games and add the title of North Yorkshire Schools Champion.
In the under-13 boys team event, Ryedale School was represented by Tom Fairweather, Johnny Goode, Sam Lunn and Lee Muise.
In the final they beat St Augustines to take the title of North Yorkshire Schools under-13 boys team champions in convincing fashion.
The under-13 girls individual competition saw Hayley Gibson show some deft touches and great forehand drives in the final but lost out to a pupil from Raincliffe School, Scarborough.
In the under-16 girls team event, the Ryedale Team of Emily Glass, Emma Fambely, Susannah Trevelyan and Hayley Gibson became the North Yorkshire Schools under-16 girls champions without raising a bat as no other school entered.
The individual under-16 girls competition was a close affair with Emma Fambely taking the title with a fine win over team-mate, Emily Glass.
Susannah Trevelyan played some startling shots to take third place.
The under-16 boys team event saw Ryedale team of Mungo Arney, Oliver Harrison, Edward Wharton and Stuart Hobbs met Graham School in the final, but the strong side of Graham school won through.
Arney going on from there to use his devastating backhand topspins to great effect to bring the house down as he won in the fifth set to become the under-16 champion.
The Ryedale and Helmsley teams now go on to the Zone Championships in January with the individuals qualifying for the national finals.
