Brooklyn edged out
Brooklyn Girls under-13s
Brooklyn Girls under-13s returned to competitive football this weekend after a five-week break when they travelled to Harrogate to face Beckwithshaw.
It appears the girls have benefitted from the break, as they put in their best performance of the season which saw them go down 1-0.
The whole team played well, but a special mention should go to the defence of Leah Burley, Jade Greenwell and girl of the game Sophie Render who all put in an immense performance throughout the match.
On the rare occasion any Beckwithshaw player managed to break through the defence, Brooklyn keeper Bethany Corner was more than equal to the task. The opposition goal came from a deflected shot that wrong-footed the keeper.
With a little more confidence in themselves, and having a shot now and again the result could have been a lot different, and the majority of the possession Brooklyn had could have been converted into a goal or three.
