On Friday and Saturday of next week there will be an exhibition of the proposed designs for the leisure village site, which will be developed on the Weaponness coachpark. This is a part of a public consultation, which is due to be held in February.

At the same consultation event, Lidl will also reveal details of its planned new foodstore on part of the former football stadium site on Seamer Road.

This is one of the enabling sites helping to fund the leisure village.

The event, which will be held at Falsgrave Community Centre on Seamer Road, is open to anyone on a drop-in basis from 4pm until 8pm on the Friday and from 10am until 2.30pm on the Saturday.

Scarborough Borough Council leader Tom Fox said: “I know that the people of Scarborough have been very patient during the earlier stages of the planning for the leisure village and football stadium and will be looking forward to seeing the latest designs for the site.

“I’m therefore expecting a bumper attendance at theexhibition days and lots of people wanting to take part in the consultation.”
