West Riding win at Ayton to set up promotion decider

West Riding’s 4-2 win at Ayton has set up a Scarborough News Sunday League division two promotion decider with Heslerton next weekend, while Itis Itis boosted their chances of escaping relegation from division one with a 3-2 home win against Klosters.

The visitors played the first 30 minutes with only 10 men until Jack Ramos arrived, but on the stroke of half-time they managed to take the lead, Mark Wade’s shot was spilt by Ayton keeper Alex Glass and Curtis Rose used his knee to force the ball home from close range.

Tyson Stubbings and Kieran Friett had both spurned great one-on-one chances in the first half for Ayton.

A great through-ball from Rose then found James Burrows who beat the keeper and tapped in.

Good play from Brad Parkin and Pickard then set up Niall Prentice to score a second goal 10 minutes from time.
