PICKERING

Pickering Station - 11.20am Evacuation of schoolchildren.
Noon - Flag-raising ceremony to start the weekend.
Station Car Park - Lifestyle marquee, Home Guard, 42nd Field Hospital displays. (Also Saturday and
Sunday.)
Kirk Theatre - 7.30pm Musical Society Bombs and Laughter on the Home Front Show. (Also Saturday and Sunday.)
Memorial Hall, Potter Hill - 7.30pm Wartime Dance with Kirkbymoorside Brass Band

GROSMONT - 11.50am Evacuation of schoolchildren

GOATHLAND - 11.10am Evacuation of schoolchildren

SATURDAY

PICKERING


Market Place - 11am Parade of re-enactors, Town Mayor takes salute; Preceded by veterans' parade.
WRVS Centre, Hungate - 9.30am-4pm. Royal British Legion serving bacon butties, soup, jacket potatoes.
Memorial Hall, Potter Hill - 10am-4pm. Soup kitchen
Beck Isle Museum - from 10am wartime vehicles display; US Navy Seabees recruitment camp; ATS Home Front re-enactors
Northern Events Area, Malton Road showground - 7pm NYMR Wartime dance. (Shuttle bus service from Pickering and return.)
Memorial Hall, Potter Hill - 7.30pm Wartime concert/revue with Stagecraft Ryedale and The Ukulele Men

GROSMONT - Soup kitchen; horse drawn LNER railway wagon display, Anderson shelter display; sea shanties and hornpipe dancing. 2pm Tiger Moth aircraft flypast/display. (Also Sunday.)

GOATHLAND - North East Military Vehicle Club with field kitchen and ordnance/bomb disposal displays; Pontefract Home Guard; Home Guard activities; Shire horse display; US Army tent. (Also Sunday.)

LEVISHAM - "German" paratroopers "occupy" Le Visham; French-style cafe. (Also Sunday.)

SUNDAY

PICKERING


Station - 9.30am Wreath laying to remember rail workers killed in the war
- 10.45am - air raid
- 2.30pm Fiona Harrison sings American swing.
- 3.30pm Air raid followed by flag lowering
WRVS Centre, Hungate - 10am-4pm Spam sandwiches, rabbit pie and peas lunch being served; jive dancing in the afternoon

GROSMONT

Station - 11.30am Military parade for veterans and re-enactors led by Richmond Town Pipe Band
- 11.50am Remembrance service
- 1.15pm Muster parade
all day - 1940s military vehicles and civilian displays

GOATHLAND

Station - all day - period farming machinery display.
12.30pm Fiona Harrison sings
