People in Helmsley are urged to come forward and share information and stories about their own family during the First World War at a drop-in day on Saturday.
Stories, pictures letters and other items of interest will be used to build up a community resource to commemorate the centenary of the Great War and how it affected the lives of people in the area.
Experts from local family history groups and museums will also help people understand what they have and how to find out more.
And library staff can explain how to get the best out of on-line library resources, such as “Ancestry” and “Find My Past” when searching for information about the First World War and the area.
The drop-in session takes place at Helmsley Library on Saturday, from 10am to 12pm.
