Garden waste collections have re-started following a winter break, Ryedale District Council has announced.
The collections will alternate with refuse collections until June when charges will be introduced for anyone who wants garden waste collected from their homes.
Residents have the option to subscribe to the service.
To do so, they will need to have purchased a licence for their brown-wheeled bin to continue with their garden waste recycling.
A licence costs £27 – less than £2 per collection - for the period from this coming June to March, 2015.
Thereafter the fee will be £36 for the financial year running from April 2015 to March 2016.
Ryedale District Council will contact all its residents, regarding the new charges for garden waste, in April 2014. This will be in the form of a letter and information pack mailed directly to each property.
