Helmsley Walled Garden is showing its support for two like-minded organisations by donating all its admission fees during an open day early next month.
All admissions on Sunday September 7 will go to Perennial and the National Gardens Scheme, said garden manager Mike I’Anson.
“As a charity working with disadvantaged people ourselves, we wanted to take a day to support two charities working with and caring for people in need. We felt that both Perennial and NGS fitted with our aims, we are proud to support them.”
Perennial works to support horticulturists in need while the National Gardens Scheme raises money for nursing and caring charities.
The open day is part of Perennial’s call to the industry to Go Green for HortAid from September 1 to 14 to raise funds for its 175th anniversary appeal.
The garden will open from 10am to 5pm.
The Vinehouse Cafe will be open for lunches and light refreshments.
