A new library facility has been opened in Norton.
The outlet in Yorkshire Housing’s Deansfield Court Extra Care Housing Scheme at Furlongs Avenue, Norton, will also feature a lounge area and cafe which can be enjoyed by library users. It is the latest addition to a new generation of library services across North Yorkshire which are located in settings such as schools, village halls and extra care facilities and offer a selection of books for all ages, and a number of audio books
“We look forward to welcoming members of the public to Deansfield Court to use the library,” said Elaine Humble, Yorkshire Housing’s Extra Care Manager. “It is a great new service for the community and can also be enjoyed by our residents.”
Volunteers are now needed to help out at the library by maintaining its stock, shelving returned books and helping customers. To volunteer call Elaine on (01653) 604440. Pictured: Julie Atkinson, Elaine Humble and resident Reg England.
