On a holiday of a lifetime
This year, the Scarborough children’s charity took six boys and six girls, aged 10 and 11, from the Barrowcliffe and Gladstone Road Schools.
The trip was a holiday of a lifetime for the children who, for varying reasons, would not have had the opportunity of a holiday before.

The children visited Trafalgar Square and Downing Street for a pre-arranged trip to see the Prime Minister’s residence at No10. They visited the Embankment to watch street entertainers before a boat trip on the Thames to the 02 Arena for a Twilight Walk over the 02.
They also had the Palace of Westminster, enjoyed a 4D Cinema Experience, and took a trip on the London Eye.
The children then visited the Royal Mews for a conducted tour, seeing the Queen’s Carriages along with a number of the Queen’s horses. They also enjoyed the popular waxwork museum Madame Tussauds.
The last day saw a fun-filled visit of the Princess Diana Play Park. One last treat awaited the children after lunch – a trip up London’s tallest building, The Shard.
