Snow has settled on the higher ground around Whitby.
This video from our Community Reporter Louise Perrin shows snow falling and settling on the ground in the rural village of Glaisdale near Whitby.
A yellow weather warning for rain and snow which covers Whitby and Scarborough has been issued by the Met Office until 3pm today.
The snow has caused disruption to travel on some roads, particularly in the more remote parts of the region.
