Bird selected for England Under-25s
The 19-year-old is one of two reserves for the fours competition to be held in Bristol over the weekend of February 20 to 21.
The indoor bowls ace plays for Yorkshire and the Scarborough League, based at the bowls centre on the north side of town.

Hide AdHe has a host of titles to his name including May championships, and has won the under 18s Scarborough singles titles four times and been part of the the men’s fours winning team five years running.
Jack also took up crown green bowls two years ago and was part of the Saturday Divsion One conquering Borough A side last year.
He started playing when he was seven when he popped into the indoor centre for something to eat with his nana Bernice Bird after watching Finding Nemo at the nearby Hollywood Plaza.
“I got engrossed in watching the game and asked if I could have a go,” said Jack.

Hide AdHe attended Sunday morning sessions for youngsters and the then coach Mike Preston spotted Jack’s potential.
“He said he was the most natural talent he had evertaught,” said Jack’s dad Adrian, who also plays.
