BORO JUNIORS: Hot-shot Hindle hits two as Boro Under-15s battle to victory
In a tight first half, Kane Randerson-Wray had the first chance of note which the keeper did well to smother.
After a slick interchange with Nathan Parker, Zam Deans was played through one-on-one, but his attempted curler into the corner was well saved by the keeper.

Hide AdBoro were not having things all their own way and although a back four of Lewis McGrath, Jake Standing, Jake Baldwin and Finlay Marsh were dealing well with most threats, a Mill Lane striker should have scored midway through the half with the goal at his mercy, but he somehow blazed narrowly wide.
After one swift Mill Lane counter-attack, Cameron Anderson in the Boro goal made an excellent block to keep the scores level.
Goalless at half-time, the game opened up in the second half, Harry Coldbeck thwarting an early Mill Lane attack with a last-ditch tackle.
But for all the intricate football being played, it was a long-ball from Anderson that caught the Mill Lane defence napping, with Jaydan Hindle getting on the end of it running through a static defence to cleverly lob over the stranded keeper for 1-0.

But for the second time in as may weeks, Boro rolled up their sleeves after a setback.
Captain Brad Smith stopped every Mill Lane move in the middle of the park, before Dan Simpson created the next Boro chance, putting a great ball into the box which Tom Wright was inches away from, before the same player then headed a McGrath corner narrowly wide.
The goal did come with eight minutes remaining when Marsh’s free-kick found Deans, who outpaced the defender and slotted the ball past the disparing dive of the keeper to make it 2-1.

Hide AdAs time was running out, Hindle beat the offside trap and knocked the ball past the advancing keeper into an empty net for a 3-1 win and a very satisfying three points for Boro’s hard-working Under-15s side.
Scarborough Under-14s lost 4-0 to Costello Cougars, while all the other scheduled Boro Juniors games were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
