Edgehill's County Cup push halted by holders Boro Rangers
Heavily-fancied Rangers went into the clash as favourites, having finished in top spot of the North Riding Football League Premier Division four years running and also winning the NRCFA County Cup in 2016, 2018 and 2020.
The hosts proved to be clinical in front of goal, leading 2-0 at the half-time interval despite having enjoyed only three efforts on the Edgehill goal - the other striking the post.

The home side’s superior fitness then showed late in the contest as they found the back of the net a further two times to wrap up the 5-0 win and a place in the semi-finals of the competition.
Despite their defeat, Edgehill manager Steve Clegg was happy with his side’s performance.
“We started the game really well, created good chances but they scored against the run of play,” said the Edgehill manager.

“They were very clinical, they had three shots in the first half and scored two and hit the post.
“In the last 20 minutes their fitness showed, they were a very organised, well-run team and had three or four players with real quality on the ball.
“However, on a different day with some of the decisions going our way in the first half, it could have been a very different outcome.
“I thought Jamie Patterson in central midfield and young Max Wright at right-back were very good for us but it wasn’t a bad team performance at all from us.”
