Sports awards nomination deadline extended

The deadline for nominations for the annual Scarborough & District Sports Council Sports Awards has been extended by a week until Friday September 26.

Scarborough Borough Council sports development officer Matt Hewison, who organises the awards, said: “There is still chance to recognise your sporting achievers for this year’s Sports Awards.

“Many thanks to all of you that have taken the time to complete the nomination form, but we still need more nominations to make the evening a true celebration of sport from across the borough.

“In order for you to make a nomination the closing date has been put back until Friday September 26, don’t miss out – make a nomination!”

Sports awards forms are available from Scarborough Sports Centre or from the Scarborough News offices at Newchase Court, Eastfield, or email the sports desk at [email protected].
